Perfect Is the Enemy of “Better”

The point of the SABERtooth fitness program is to get you better:

  • Leaner
  • Faster
  • Stronger
  • Fitter
  • Healthier

DO NOT get hung up on doing everything perfectly on the first try…just do better than the last time you tried it. Competence comes with repetition. As you gain competence through practice, you will become better at the movements, and you will perform brilliantly.

DO NOT get hung up on performing 100% of the fitness activities every single day. If you have the time and energy…do them. If not…do what you can. Focus on getting more done as you progress through the program. The program is large and ambitious in terms of the volume of things that you can collect points for. This is intentional–it provides a framework in which you can challenge yourself. Over time…if you stick with it, you will do better. By challenging yourself you will become better.

DO NOT beat yourself up too much if you do not eat perfectly every day. If you slip up…focus on doing better the next time. Be mindful that you will never ever be able to out-train a bad diet. If you want to max out your results: performance and body composition, then adherence to the Nutrition Plan will be key.

None of us train or eat perfectly…the most that we can ask of ourselves is BETTER.
